Otel

Software studio

We love bringing great software ideas to life.

Whether it’s realizing your vision or breathing new life into the tools your team already knows, we create thoughtful software without breaking the bank.

A studio for custom applications.

Otel Consulting designs, builds, and launches software that sits between everyday operations and the technology that should make them easier.

We take on the work that off-the-shelf tools don’t quite cover — internal systems, customer-facing apps, and mobile products. We get the application set up in whichever environment you run, and stay involved until you’re successful with it.

Otel

Build it, then get it running where you need it.

Custom applications, mobile, and a launch into the environment you already use — not a brochure site and not a hosting contract.

Web application development

Custom software for quoting, tracking, portals, and internal workflows. We replace spreadsheets and email chains with tools that match how your team actually works.

Mobile apps

From design through publish. We build mobile experiences that support the same data and workflows as your web systems, so staff and customers stay in sync.

Environment setup

We’ll get your application set up in whichever environment you run, and help you be successful with it — your cloud, your servers, your stack.

Digital presence

Websites, branding, and search that support the product — not a separate marketing layer bolted on after the software ships.

Custom software case studies

Real systems for real operations — what was broken, what we shipped, and where it runs today.

Web app · ERP · Home building

From green screens to a modern operating stack

A national home builder was still running the business on terminal screens. We put a modern web UI on the database they already trusted, then extended it — accounting, estimating, vendor management, production, and sales in one system they could actually grow with.

The bind
Green-screen workflows slowing teams that needed speed and visibility.
What we built
Web-based ERP on their existing data model, plus modules their operation needed.
In production
Their environment — same foundation, without starting over.
ERP Accounting Production Sales
Web app · CRM · Custom

CRM built for how they sell homes, not how SaaS sells seats

Off-the-shelf CRM couldn’t match how a national home builder tracks communities, buyers, and field sales. We built one from scratch around their process — appointments, pipelines, and reporting shaped to their model, not a generic template.

The bind
A unique sales workflow with no product that fit without compromise.
What we built
Custom CRM from the ground up — tuned to how their teams actually work.
In production
Sales and regional teams run their day in it.
CRM Custom Sales Reporting
iOS · Android · Field tool

The product catalog, in the installer’s pocket

Crews in the field needed specs, install videos, safety data, and coverage math on site — not back at the office. We built the iOS and Android app they open on every job: searchable catalog, MSDS, video, and a calculator that answers coverage before the truck rolls.

The bind
Product info, safety sheets, and calculators scattered where nobody could reach them on site.
What we built
Field app with catalog search, install video, MSDS, and coverage calculator on both phones.
In production
Published and in daily use where the work happens.
iOS Android Catalog Field tool
Web app · B2B · Title search

Right vendor, right courthouse, right price — automatically

Title search orders arrive with criteria no two clients handle the same way. We built a web service that captures each profile and routes work to the most qualified, cost-effective vendor at the right municipality — courthouse searches assigned without a phone tree.

The bind
Manual vendor matching that burned time and left money on the table.
What we built
Routing engine that reads each client’s criteria and assigns the best-fit courthouse search.
In production
Operators run orders through it every day.
B2B Title search Automation
Web app · RFID · Mining

Every asset accounted for — warehouse to pit

A mining operation needed gear tracked from checkout to the job site, not guessed from clipboards. We built a synchronization system that registers assets leaving the warehouse, confirms them on site, and runs nightly audits that alert management when something isn’t where it should be.

The bind
No reliable picture of what was in the warehouse, on site, or missing in between.
What we built
RFID sync across warehouse and job-site readers, automated nightly audits, and management alerts.
In production
Real-time stock for new jobs and reorder points — plus faster local warehouse audits.
RFID Mining Inventory Operations
Web app · iPad · Delivery

From pick to doorstep — with the warehouse watching every step

A regional consumer goods delivery service needed inventory, picking, and drivers on one thread. We built warehouse management with line-item picking per order, iPad workflows for pickers, driver handoff and GPS tracking, and wall-mounted dashboards so the floor always knew what was moving.

The bind
Picking, stock levels, and delivery tracking living in separate worlds.
What we built
WMS with per-order product picking, iPad handhelds, driver GPS, and warehouse dashboard displays.
In production
Pickers, drivers, and managers running the same system in real time.
WMS Delivery iPad GPS
Web app · Manufacturing · Scheduling

The production plan everyone can finally see

A manufacturer was coordinating jobs, materials, and machine capacity across disconnected spreadsheets. We created one live production schedule that gives planners and the shop floor the same view of what runs next.

The bind
Schedule changes traveled slowly while material and capacity conflicts surfaced too late.
What we built
Visual job scheduling, material readiness, machine capacity, and floor-status dashboards.
In production
Planners and operators work from one real-time production plan.
Manufacturing Scheduling Dashboards
Mobile · Dispatch · Field service

From dispatch board to signed service call

A field service team needed dispatchers and technicians working from the same information. We connected scheduling, routing, service history, photos, notes, and customer sign-off in one mobile-first workflow.

The bind
Phone calls and paper work orders left dispatch guessing about field progress.
What we built
Dispatch, technician routing, offline work orders, photos, signatures, and service history.
In production
Every visit moves from assignment to customer approval in one system.
Field service Mobile Dispatch Offline
B2B commerce · ERP integration · Web

Wholesale ordering without the email chain

A distributor’s customers were sending orders by email and waiting for availability and pricing confirmations. We built a self-service portal tied to live inventory, account-specific pricing, approvals, and the existing ERP.

The bind
Every order required manual entry, price checks, and back-and-forth confirmation.
What we built
B2B catalog, contract pricing, inventory visibility, approvals, and ERP order sync.
In production
Customers order on their schedule while the operations team avoids rekeying data.
B2B E-commerce ERP Inventory
Fleet · Maintenance · Compliance

Maintenance before the warning light

A fleet operator needed to replace scattered inspection forms and service records. We brought preventive schedules, repair history, parts, mileage, and compliance alerts into a system built around each vehicle.

The bind
Missed service intervals created downtime and made compliance records hard to prove.
What we built
Inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, parts inventory, and automated alerts.
In production
Managers see what is road-ready, due soon, or waiting on a part.
Fleet Maintenance Compliance
Construction · Job costing · Field reporting

One project record, from estimate to closeout

A construction team had costs, change orders, documents, and field updates spread across too many tools. We created a shared project workspace that connects office decisions to progress on site.

The bind
Project status depended on reconciling spreadsheets, inboxes, and field reports.
What we built
Estimating, job costing, change orders, subcontractors, documents, and mobile updates.
In production
Project managers see scope, cost, and field progress without assembling the story by hand.
Construction Job costing Mobile
Healthcare · Scheduling · Credentials

Every shift covered by someone cleared to work it

A care organization needed faster scheduling without losing sight of qualifications and availability. We combined shift planning, credentials, time-off, open-shift offers, and coverage alerts.

The bind
Schedulers filled gaps manually while checking availability and credentials elsewhere.
What we built
Role-aware scheduling, credential tracking, availability, time-off, and coverage alerts.
In production
Teams fill open shifts sooner with the right qualified people.
Healthcare Scheduling Compliance
Rental · Reservations · Asset management

Know what is available before promising it

An equipment rental operation needed reservations and asset condition in one place. We connected availability, contracts, inspections, delivery, return, and maintenance around each rentable unit.

The bind
Double-bookings and incomplete return inspections disrupted the next rental.
What we built
Reservations, live availability, contracts, inspections, logistics, and maintenance holds.
In production
Sales and the yard share a reliable picture of every asset.
Rental Reservations Assets
Food distribution · Lot tracking · Delivery

Trace every case from receiving to route

A food distributor needed faster answers about lot location and shelf life. We connected receiving, expiration dates, warehouse picking, delivery routes, and recall reporting without slowing the floor.

The bind
Lot and expiration details were difficult to follow once inventory began moving.
What we built
Barcode receiving, lot traceability, FEFO picking, route assignment, and recall reports.
In production
Operations can locate affected inventory and deliveries in minutes.
Traceability Warehouse Food Barcode
Customer portal · Documents · Service

Give customers answers without making them ask

A service business was answering routine account questions through calls and email. We gave customers a secure place to view orders, invoices, documents, service requests, and account activity.

The bind
Customers waited for information the internal team already had in several systems.
What we built
Secure accounts, order status, invoices, files, service requests, and system integrations.
In production
Customers self-serve while staff focus on questions that need a person.
Portal Self-service Integrations
Modernization · Web app · Legacy data

The familiar workflow, ready for what comes next

A business relied on a desktop application that still fit its process but could no longer support modern access and integration. We rebuilt it for the web while preserving the workflows and data users already trusted.

The bind
Critical software worked, but aging technology limited access, support, and growth.
What we built
A modern web application, migrated data, role-based access, and APIs for new integrations.
In production
Users keep the process they know with a faster, maintainable foundation.
Modernization Web app Migration APIs

Before we start building

A few quick answers about custom software, modernization, mobile development, and how we work.

What kinds of custom software do you build?

Custom web applications, iOS and Android apps, ERP and CRM systems, customer portals, warehouse and inventory tools, field applications, and operational dashboards — shaped around the work your team actually does.

How do you use AI in custom software?

We add AI where it provides measurable value: document extraction, natural-language search, summaries, workflow recommendations, and exception detection — with people reviewing the decisions that matter.

Can you modernize software we already rely on?

Yes. We can preserve familiar workflows and trusted business data while replacing an aging interface or technology stack with a modern, maintainable web or mobile application.

Do you build for both iOS and Android?

Yes. We build mobile applications for iOS and Android and connect them to the same data and workflows used by your web and business systems.

Where will the finished application run?

In the environment you already use — your cloud, your servers, and your technology stack. We handle setup and stay involved through go-live.

How does a custom software project begin?

We start by learning the real workflow, data, constraints, and edge cases. Then we deliver in useful increments so your team can review working software early instead of waiting for a big reveal.
